Goodbye ISNHS!

The end of my last school year at Ilocos Sur National High School has come. The fourth grading period again ended and felt sad because days are now counted before I 'll leave my alma mater which serves as my second home.
During the days of the fourth grading period, I learned a lot of things. I learned academic lessons as well as morals. At the end of each day of our classes, I learned to enjoy; enjoy each hours, minutes and seconds of the time. In our ICT class, Mrs. Vera Cruz, our teacher, deepens our knowledge in working with Adobe Photoshop just like
This grading period, I can say that I have done my best. I will miss ILOCOS SUR NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.

My dream, my future

My dream, my future

I am driving home with my BMW after my work at the Central Bank of the Philippines. Few minutes later, I arrive in a white mansion. I pass by a swimming pool. I open the door and there I see a huge chandelier. I am happy as I see my twin daughters running to me with their smiling face saying, “Welcome home daddy!” Then a kiss on my lips by my beautiful wife. I sat down the sofa and my phone rings. I answer and after a few moments, my tears come down from my eyes after I heard my parents saying, “We’re proud of you!” ------ This is my dream for the future. Even if it seems to be very hard to reach, I will do my best to attain my dream.
It’s still fresh in my mind when I was still a little boy. My parents asked me what will I be when I grow up. I said, “I want to become a Policeman.” But as the time passes by, I realized that I don’t want to become a policeman anymore but I want to be a successful man someday.
Now, I am fourth year high school and it is the right time to choose the course I will finish. I remember what my mother and father told me. They said, “Choose the profession where you will be happy.”

Change: It starts with me

Change: It starts with me

They say that the only permanent in this world is CHANGE. As the time passes by, CHANGE is always there.
But, why is it that our nation needs change?
Many Filipinos are suffering from poverty which forces them to do crimes such as murder, rape, robbery and many other evil doings. Our country is also included in the list of countries that belong to the lower class. One of the main reasons of this is our wrong doings. We are always complaining about our government but we never complained about ourselves. Some of us are not paying the right taxes where our government can get something to implement projects and programs for the betterment of our nation. Some of us also influence others in wrong ways instead of doing their duties and responsibilities.
The change is in our hands. To change old nation with poverty and crimes, we must do something, and it is to do our responsibilities and obligation being a citizen of our country.

Kannawidan

Before the Spaniards came to the Philippines, Ylocos’ culture was very rich. During the old times, people of Ylocos started making hand-made products such as pots called “burnay”, abel , furnitures, weapons and many more. Ylocos also have its own literature. There are many Yloco poems called “daniw” and epics such as the Biag ni Lam-ang that were written before. Ylocanos were also known for their good attitudes especially the hospitality and being “kuripot” or good in keeping money.
Every last week of January to first week of February, the province of Ilocos Sur celebrates the Kannawidan Festival. This occasion aims to showcase the different products of every town of Ilocos Sur. It also shows the old beliefs and traditions of Ilocanos. During this Kannawidan, lots of activities were made. This includes different competitions about the culture of Ilocos Sur such as quiz bee, writing daniw, tribal dance and many more.
This occasion is very fun and enjoyable. It shows that Ilocos Sur is very rich in history and culture. It is also one proof that Ilocos Sur is a very nice place to live in.

New Year, New me

New Year, New me

The year 2013 ended and there comes again 2014. I remember all the things I’ve done last year; the good and bad that happens to me. I also remember the troubles I’ve made and the problems I had encountered which develop my personality.
New Year is just like a new day. When you wake up in the morning, first thing to do is to wash your face. Remove all negatives in you and replace it with positives. These New Year, I planned to change all my bad attitudes and I’ll try to replace them with better one.
New Year is a new start for us. Whatever things we didn’t accomplished last year, we can start to finish it this year. Whatever broken relationships last year, it’s a chance to start a new this new year.

TIME RUNS FAST

            TIME RUNS FAST

The end of our last school year at Ilocos Sur National High School is coming closer. The third grading period again ended and felt sad because one more grading period left and we will bid goodbye to our dear alma mater, the ISNHS.
During these days of the third grading period, I learned a lot of things. I learned academic lessons as well as morals. At the end of each day of our classes, I learned to enjoy; enjoy each hours, minutes and seconds of the time. In our ICT class, Mrs. Vera Cruz, our teacher, deepens our knowledge in creating Web Page Design with the use of notepad and Microsoft FrontPage.
This grading period, I can say that I have done my best. I have done better than last grading period. And hopefully, I will do again better next time.

BE HAPPY!

“Joy to the world, the Lord has come;” children joyfully sing house to house. Bright lanterns, tall Christmas trees and twinkling lights in the streets. People walk to churches as the cold wind gracefully dances with the leaves of trees. And, thundering loud sound of firecrackers.
Days run so fast and its December again. The season of Christmas has again arrived. It is the time of giving and sharing, it is the time were our friends and love ones are at our side and it is a perfect time to forgive someone.
Christmas seems to be the happiest time of the year for every one of us because Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ. During this time of the year, we must put God in our mind and heart so that we will be able to free ourselves. Because, the true essence of Christmas happiness.
